Honorary Chair, Ryan Jaseph
A letter from Steve & Marilyn Kraft
You are receiving this letter because you are a friend, family member or business associate of Ryan Jaseph. My husband, Steve, and I met Ryan through our relationship at our bank where he was the Branch Manager. I remember thinking this fellow must be a real ‘go getter’ to have worked his way up to manager at such a young age. It didn’t take us long to realize Ryan is one of a kind. As you well know, Ryan gives his heart and soul to any venture he becomes involved with — whether it’s Rotary, JDRF, his love of family or golf. Ryan is all in!
When we talked to Ryan about our daughter, Melanie, and her 30 year plus journey with type 1 diabetes, Ryan said “Tell me more.” We told him about JDRF, the leading global organization funding type 1 diabetes (T1D) research. JDRF is committed to accelerating life-changing breakthroughs to cure, prevent and treat T1D and its complications. JDRF works every day to change the reality of this disease for millions of people — and to prevent anyone else from ever knowing it — by funding research, advocating for government support of research, and ensuring new therapies come to market. JDRF has funded nearly $2 billion in research to date and has made significant progress in understanding and fighting this disease.
After attending our annual gala, Ryan said “What can I do to help?!” He quickly joined the JDRF Board and to no one’s surprise was Board Chair after a couple of years. He has worked diligently to educate the community on the importance of supporting the research of JDRF as we fight to create a world without T1D. He also found a niche on the JDRF Annual Golf Tournament committee and has been instrumental in its continued success as the BEST golf tourney in Albuquerque.
We in the T1D family are always overwhelmed when someone with ‘no skin in the game because they have no personal connection to diabetes’ labors endlessly to help us find a cure. Because of Ryan’s vigorous support of JDRF, we want to honor him and say thank you. Ryan has been named the Honorary Chair of our 8th Annual JDRF New Mexico Gala, Fighting for the Cure. The Gala will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at the Hyatt Tamaya Resort.
Because you have a relationship with Ryan, we know he has impacted your life in a very positive way. During our gala, we have an opportunity to make donations directly to research. EVERY dollar raised in Fund a Cure is used for research. Here is your chance to tell Ryan: “You mean the world to me” by supporting a cause in which he deeply believes. A Go Fund Me page has been set up at www.onenightnm.org. Here you can tell Ryan what he has meant to you and also make a monetary donation in his name to JDRF. My husband and I feel so strongly that Ryan needs to know how deeply his dedication is appreciated that we will match up to $10,000.00 of the funds raised.
In closing, please plan to join us on April 1, 2017 as we honor this extraordinary young man and Fight for a Cure to turn Type 1 into Type None!
Sincerely,
Marilyn and Steve Kraft
JDRF New Mexico would like to thank Ryan for his continued support and for being a great leader in our fight to find a cure for type 1 diabetes.
Ryan is a true T1D Champion.
